Peer-Review and Publication Process

The International Journal of Commerce, Industry and Entrepreneurship Studies (UTISGAD Journal) follows a double-blind peer-review policy, in which the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous. Exceptions may arise in rare cases where anonymity is compromised due to self-citations or identifiable content.

The journal publishes biannually (July and December) and focuses on original research within the field of social sciences.

🔹 Editorial and Peer-Review Workflow

1. Preliminary Evaluation (Editorial Review):

  • All submissions are first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure compliance with:
    • Journal template
    • Aims and scope
    • Ethical standards
    • Similarity (plagiarism) screening using iThenticate (Threshold: ≤ 20%)
  • Submissions that do not meet requirements are desk rejected, and authors are notified promptly.

2. Peer Review:

  • Submissions passing the editorial screening are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Authors may be invited to suggest potential reviewers (with full name, affiliation, and contact). However, the editorial team is not obligated to use them.
  • Reviewers must:
    • Have no prior knowledge of the submission
    • Not have collaborated with the authors in the recent past
    • Not be affiliated with the same institution
  • The double-blind review process ensures objectivity, originality, and readability.

3. Decision and Revisions:

  • Based on peer-review reports, the editorial team decides to:
    • Accept
    • Request revisions
    • Reject
  • If revisions are required, authors must submit the corrected manuscript within 15 days.
  • Once the reviewers approve the revised version, the editorial board gives final publication approval.

🔹 Publication Process

  • Finalized manuscripts undergo:
    • Language and formatting checks
    • Typesetting and layout editing
  • The formatted article is sent to the author for final approval before publication.

🕒 The entire process—from initial submission to final publication—typically takes 3 to 4 months.
